It's primarily a hub for accessing the surrounding natural beauty. You'll find a few local eateries and small shops, but the main draw is the stunning scenery and the outdoor activities available. The village is compact, making it easy to stroll around and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.Couples looking for a romantic escape will appreciate the lodges situated a short distance from the village. These often offer stunning lake views, a sense of seclusion, and direct access to hiking trails and fishing spots. The best time to go to Lago Verde is during the Austral summer, from December to March, when the weather is mildest and most stable for outdoor activities.During these months, you'll experience longer daylight hours and average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty. This period is superb for hiking, fishing, and kayaking on the lakes and rivers. While it's the peak season, the Aysén region generally avoids the crowds found in more well-known Patagonian destinations, offering a more tranquil experience. For those keen on fishing, particularly fly-fishing, January and February are often considered the prime months. The warmer weather means more insect activity, which in turn brings fish closer to the surface. Many lodges and guides operate at full capacity during this time, so booking well in advance is advisable. If you prefer slightly fewer visitors and are prepared for potentially cooler temperatures and a bit more rain, the shoulder months of November and April can also be good options. The landscapes are often spectacular with autumn colours in April, and spring blooms in November.
